Since 1989, Mt. Carmel Former Students Association has funded numerous projects for the school.
The goal of our organization is to use our experience from the past in support of the future that God has for Mt. Carmel High School…. ….by helping in the present now in the areas that need immediate attention.

How did MCFSA get started?
The Mount Carmel High School Former Students Association began as the brainchild of Seldon Short and Robert Cundiff. Soon Jonah Mitchell joined them, and and their idea began to grow and take shape. Forming an Association to keep Mt. Carmel connected to all its former students finally became a reality on August 25, 1989, when the first picnic was organized.
Over the years, the FSA has sponsored the annual picnic during the summer; raised and contributed funds and labor for many campus-improving projects. Some of our more recent projects were to completely renovate an apartment, and also bathroom remodels on older houses.
In 1998, the FSA sent a letter to its members, inviting them to participate in providing Christmas gifts to Mt. Carmel faculty and staff. In 2004, we expanded the tradition with the first “Christmas on the Mountain,” a special Christmas dinner for all the faculty, staff and retirees. The funding for the dinner comes from the picnic auction in August. The response each year from the former students for this project has been so outstanding, we have been able to continue it as a tradition. During the course of the evening, each worker is presented with a much- appreciated financial gift, which comes solely from the mailed-in contributions of former students. Christmas, 2021, we marked a historical record year of giving to the faculty, staff and retirees, thanks to you, our former students and friends! We thank God for your generosity.
